Speak your truth with kindness and compassion!
This week, we are focusing on the throat chakra, the energy center dedicated to speaking your truth, communicating with love and freedom, and listening and understanding what is being communicated to you. Take a deep breath and reflect for a moment, do you speak your truth with honesty and compassion?
What are you afraid of?
Being seen as a ‘demanding woman’ or self-righteous millennial? Are you afraid of being happy? Of saying no? Of saying yes? Of getting exactly what you want? Is this your inner saboteur?
Sometimes, I’m afraid of being seen as wanting too much or something that might be perceived as beyond my abilities or expert level. Why?! Because I might be successful?! Stop that thinking RIGHT NOW and repeat the mantra:
“I speak my truth with kindness and compassion!”
Sanskrit: Vishuddha or “pure”
Location: the throat, you can visualise a a spaciousness here
Symbol: upside down triangle and circle in a 16-petal lotus
Mantra: HAM
Affirmation: I speak my truth with kindness and compassion
Colour: Blue
In balance: listening and speaking freely and naturally, understanding vocal as well as body language, honesty, clear and confident speech, and easy expression of ideas
Out of balance: Over-active: gossiping or ‘stirring the pot’, lying, excessive speech or talking, arrogance, refusing to hear others; Under-active: suppressing emotions, fearful of self-expression or what others will think or say, shy, afraid of offending, writer’s block, forgetting dreams.
Oil: Lavender and Peppermint
Element: ether or quintessence
Self-expression, creativity and freedom.
The throat chakra is all about self-expression, getting the creative juices going and unleashing our potential to create unique and exciting offerings! You deserve the freedom to be who you want to be and create what you want to create! And I want to experience it with you! The people who are closest to you love you and your passions. What fills you with joy probably will do for them too, and even if your personal interests are not completely aligned, that doesn’t meant that they are not interested in YOU.
Communicate, listen and understand.
We want to be effective communicators, conscious listeners and intelligent understand-ers. Listen to your people and respond with understanding and empathy!
What can you do to bring the throat chakra in balance?
- Practice yoga!
Next week, I’ll share my top 5 yoga poses to help open the throat area and balance the throat chakra OR SUBSCRIBE to access the full AND FREE throat chakra yoga practice as soon as it is released! - Talk it out!
Call up someone you know, love and trust to confide in. Get a bottle of wine and make an evening of it! - Write it out!
Grab a pen, open up your journal and write down:
Something you dream of doing
Something you are afraid of
Something you love
Where you want to be in 6 months’ time
How you’re going to get there
Choose a positive affirmation that resonates with you and dedicate a whole page to it. Usually, I just write it once with intention, but you could write it multiple times - Dance it out! Put on your favourite song, turn up the volume and dance it out! If it’s got words, you KNOW you’ve got to sing them LOUD and PROUD!!!
Communicate with love!
Only when we properly communicate, can we truly honour and grow our relationships with our loved ones AND ourselves. We owe it to ourselves to be honest! You deserve good things!
It’s also important to make sure that we don’t go too far in the other direction, and forget to listen or be kind or compassionate. Speak your truth in a way that doesn’t attack someone else and their beliefs. Share wisdom and experience with love and an open heart!
